MycoTOX Mold Test

Urine Mycotoxin Measurements — Not a Mold Illness Diagnosis

What is This Test?

MycoTOX measures selected mycotoxins in urine. A detected amount does not establish mold-related illness, identify a building or mold species as the source, or measure your total body burden. Food can contribute to detectable levels in healthy people. CDC's published guidance warns that disease-predicting urine levels have not been established and does not recommend biologic testing simply because someone lives or works in a water-damaged building. Discuss these limitations with your clinician before ordering.

Confirm the exact panel, eligibility, preparation, and timing in your Fullscript order and current lab instructions. Kit instructions take priority over this general summary. Do not stop prescribed medicines without your clinician's guidance. Laboratory certification does not establish that every proposed clinical use is validated.

Biomarkers Tested

Selected Mycotoxins

  • Aflatoxin M1
  • Ochratoxin A
  • Sterigmatocystin
  • Gliotoxin

Additional Measured Compounds

  • Mycophenolic Acid
  • Chaetoglobosin A
  • Citrinin

Trichothecenes

  • Roridin E
  • Verrucarin A

Other Mycotoxins

  • Zearalenone
  • Enniatin B

What Should You Discuss Before Testing?

Discuss Clinical Utility

Ask whether the result would change your care given the limitations of urine mycotoxin testing.

Environmental Concerns

Moisture and visible mold need appropriate building assessment; a urine result cannot locate the source.

Treatment Safety

Do not start antifungals, binders, or a detox program based on this result alone.

Understanding Your Results

Your report shows urine measurements and laboratory reference ranges. These ranges are not established thresholds for mold-related illness.

What You Can Review:

  • 1Summary of measured urine mycotoxins
  • 2Individual mycotoxin quantification
  • 3Laboratory reference comparisons
  • 4Limits of source attribution
  • 5Questions for clinical review
  • 6No diagnosis or detox plan from the report alone
