Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about family gut health, testing, and personal review.

What is Kalberer Wellness Cares?

Kalberer Wellness Cares is a Catholic, faith-based family wellness practice led by Alyssa Kalberer, PA-C, a board-certified physician assistant. You can explore three ways to work together: listen to the Gut First Podcast, begin with the Gut Health Quiz for personal review before gut testing with included personal analysis, or learn about the Gut First Membership (new enrollment is temporarily paused).

Is personal analysis included with gut testing?

Yes. Your gut testing through KWC includes Alyssa's personal analysis of your results. This is a paid service, covered by the education resource fee shown when you purchase testing in Fullscript—not a free analysis. Start with the Gut First Gut Health Quiz so Alyssa can review your needs before recommending testing.

Not sure which test is right for you?

Share your symptoms and health goals for Alyssa's personal review and testing guidance.

How do I get started with gut health testing?

Start with the Gut First Gut Health Quiz. Alyssa personally reviews your answers and follows up with guidance about which tests may be appropriate for you. Testing and supplements can be recommended individually through your Fullscript patient chart. New website checkout is temporarily paused.

Does the quiz diagnose a condition or automatically choose a test?

No. The quiz collects symptoms, age, and concerns for Alyssa's personal review. It is not a diagnosis or an automatic test recommendation. Your confirmation email acknowledges your submission; Alyssa follows up personally with testing guidance.

What are the 3 Pillars of Foundational Gut Health™?

Alyssa's Gut First educational framework covers the gut microbiome, gut lining, and gut digestion & detoxification. These pillars organize your gut health education; they are not a diagnostic test or a promise that supplements will treat a condition.

Can children and babies be considered for testing?

The testing guide includes adult, child, baby, and pregnancy options. Share the age of the person whose symptoms you describe, not just your age as the adult contact. Alyssa reviews each situation individually before recommending next steps; not everyone needs the same test.

What can a stool test tell me?

Stool tests measure specific markers selected by the laboratory. Depending on the test, they may provide information about microbes, digestion, or inflammation. No single stool test explains every symptom. Results need interpretation alongside symptoms, medical history, and appropriate clinical evaluation.

Where can I learn before deciding about testing?

Explore the gut health testing guide, the Gut First Podcast hosted by Alyssa Kalberer, PA-C, and foundational gut health resources for you. General education does not replace your individualized medical care.

Is Gut First Family Live accepting new website purchases?

New website checkout is temporarily paused. If you are an existing member, you retain access. Recordings, handouts, and recipes are future additions, not currently available membership content.

Sources and scope

For background on how digestion works, read the NIDDK guide to the digestive system. For an example of why stool test selection and interpretation depend on the clinical question, see MedlinePlus on calprotectin stool testing. These sources explain general concepts; they do not endorse our practice or every test in our guide.

You can read Alyssa's published background and explore the current testing process. Education is not a diagnosis or a substitute for your medical care. For persistent or concerning symptoms, consult your treating clinician.
